DESCRIPTIONS OF OUR ELIST GROUPS AND HOW TO MAKE CHANGES TO WHICH YOU RECEIVE

We've discovered that it's easy joining and removing yourself from our elist, but not so easy changing the various special-interest groups you're subscribed to.

We've put together a brief piece here to introduce you to the various different elists we run, and have included detailed instructions that will help you to add or delete them. Please note that, due to limitations of bCentral (the company managing or elist), the only time you can make these changes is when you receive an email from one of our elists. If you haven't yet joined our elist, follow this link-

Presently, we have the following special-interest e-lists you can join-
  1. Deathride mailing list
This used to be pretty active, when there was a fair amount of controversy regarding how people got accepted into the ride. Most of that's in the past now, so you'll likely see just a few emails, letting you know when they've opened up registration, any change in the rules, etc.

  2. Events & Clinics at Chain Reaction
Anyone local to our stores should consider this one. This is where we make announcements about flat tire & emergency bicycle repair clinics, as well as special guests who might be coming by etc.

  3. Road Bike Rides
We'll try to send out emails whenever we make significant changes to our listing of rides on our website, as well as inform people of events like our annual TurkeyDay Trot and New Year's Day Mt. Hamilton climb. This list may become more active in the future, as I play with some new software that will make it easier to integrate maps & photos with ride descriptions.

  4. Sales & Promotions at Chain Reaction
Pretty self explanatory. This e-list will let you know when we're having major sales at the store. In the past, we've only sent a couple emails a year through this e-list, but it's likely you might see as many as 3/month in the future. Still not a big source of "spam."

  5. Super Deals on "take off" components from new bikes
This is a relatively-new e-list (started December 2006) that we're going to try and make pretty active. That means you might get a couple emails a week at times. Basically any time we find something that might be of interest (high-quality bike stuff cheap!) we'll send an email. So, in the case of this one e-list, we'll be making a deliberate attempt to send out a fair number of emails!

  6. Tour de France travel & group info
We don't send out emails too often on this one, so don't worry about any huge quantity of spam. But when we update our tour group listings, or hear something that might be of interest to someone thinking about visiting the Tour de France, this is where we'll be notifying people.

Thanks for being a member of the Chain Reaction e-list!
If you have further questions about our elist, you may email me directly at MikeJ@ChainReaction.com.  Thanks!
