Saris Solo

The Saris Solo is simple, affordable, convenient and just plain cool. It's a one-bike trunk rack that easily fits most vehicles. The non-marring, thermoplastic rubber foot pads adjust to the contours of your vehicle for stability. It's made from 100% recyclable materials making a super-tough rustproof rack. Its small size makes it easy to store, too!

Not bad for the price tag.

    Comments:

For the price it's not that bad. The contact points are hard rubber on the frame and metal on the mounts. You should buy some sort of felt pads so that it doesn't scratch your paint. I didn't do that the 1st time and it scratched my paint. On smaller cars (like my GTI) the wheels sit out enough that the wind carries it away from the car. Lot of tie downs are recommended. Bottom line, it works but take the time to secure it well.

      Comments:

I have a small two seater car, Toyota MR2 1991 T-top, so roof rack more out of the question. Plus I only need it for one bike. I was looking into the Bone 2 but the store I went to didn't have it. I asked about the Solo, which was not out on their floor, but he said they have them and brought one out. I wasn't thinking about getting it because of the design and build of it. But I think simple is good. I went ahead and bought it hoping it would do the job. Making this long story shorter... it worked like a charm! Though that was just putting it on and testing the bike, not actually on the road. So I hope it sticks!

Horrible quality. I am actually on this website looking for its replacement. My Trek Madone deserves a better and safer transporter. I constantly am looking in the rearview mirror because I'm concerned that my bike is going to fall off. Spend some extra money!!!

Put together well but the plastic makes me feel it's construction could be better. I've used it and love it.

          Comments:

The Saris solo is just the ticket for transporting one bike. It is extremely lightweight and easy to attach to your vehicle. It is small enough that I can toss it in my trunk when not in use. The rack appears to be very stable. I use to put the seats down in my car, take the front wheel off my bike and put my bike in the car. But thanks to the Saris Solo, transporting my bike is so much easier now.
