I use to have a 07 Trek Soho before changing to the FX. Man what a difference. The Soho was designed to be a commuter and was unique in style but it rode way to harsh. The 09 FX with the carbon insert fork, Iso Zone rear and the new seat make the bike ride butter smooth. The FX geometry offers great comfort while maintaining a sense of performance to maintain higher speeds. I love this bike but I'm only giving it 4 stars because I'm sure the 7.9 FX is 5 star version of it.

I upgraded from my old hybrid. I ride about 75 (pretty hard) miles per week for fun and exercise and I wanted more speed. I have a sensitive lower back and this bike gave me a lot more speed without having to hunch over. I just love its speed, ride, comfort, and elegance. For the money it is just great. I highly recommend it!

I had a 7.3 for a year and had hand numbness, plus wanted lighter weight....this did the trick, used to get number 3 miles into my ride now I am riding 20 with minimal problems..the carbon fork and seat stays are making a big difference. This bike is much quieter than the 7.3 and is several pounds lighter. My gripe on the 7.3 is that it had hundreds of scratches on the top of the frame after just a few hundred miles, just from getting off and on and rubbing against the top cables. I found small cable wrap which I installed on the 3 top cables of the 7.6 and this did the trick. this thing is smooth, great for training, have done 50 plus mile rides, very comfortable...great bike...

This bike has been impressive. Much lighter and faster than my previous 7500. I did add bar ends for a different hand position option. Great componets, shifts well. The carbon fiber forks and stays do a good job of dampening vibration.

My wife wanted to buy me a mountain bike for my birthday, but when I test rode a couple different sized frames, the Trek FX 7.6 was the one I rode home on. It's a great everyday commuter-style bike that is fast and fun to ride. It has just about everything one would want without moving up to a full road bike. The only reason this bike did not receive a 5-star rating is because I would have preferred the paddle shifters to be a little less bulky as well as have the pedals upgraded to the newer SPD-SL design. Otherwise, the FX 7.6 is an all around solid performer.

Good bike for the money. The components are nice and the bike is all that you can ask for in this catagory. The 7.6 is an attractive bike for the money compared to the more expensive 7.7 and 7.9.
