Great product. Bikes feel very secure and I love the fact that it's made here in the states. I can't see any reason why someone would feel the need for any rack other than this one from Saris. I'm a very happy customer.

Although I recently purchased the rack, the use I have given it shows that the Superclamp 2 is a stable rack that does a great job securing the bike(s). The rack was relatively easy to put together, even by one person. The rack doesn't jut out too far from the end of the car like the racks that are more expensive. I don't have the issue of the license plate being non-visible, which is also a plus. Although there is some sway, it is minimal and vastly less than my previous hitch rack. Overall, this a is a great rack that is much more affordable AND weighs almost half of what other racks weight. I give it a gigantic thumbs up.

        Comments:

This bike rack is amazing. It attaches to a trailer hitch on your car which is much more stable than those trunk racks where you just tie it on with straps, and then you can't even get in your trunk while the rack is on. This rack fixes all of those problems. The bikes stand upright in a tray. On other bike racks, they clamp onto the top tube. This is not ideal because I have a "ladies's style" or "step-through" frame, and with a top-tube-holder, my bike ended up at such a crazy angle that the trunk rack couldn't hold a second bike. But since this rack only clamps onto the wheels, it doesn't matter how the frame is shaped. This is also great if you have a carbon frame (I don't) because other bike racks can scratch carbon frames. This one won't because it doesn't touch the frame. It's also way better than trunk racks or roof racks because you don't have to lift your bike so high, and on a roof rack, you could forget it's up there. The rack was really easy to install on my car. It's almost fully assembled anyway, and the instructions were easy to understand. It was an especially nice touch that they included a sticker to put on your hitch bar so that you can mark where the pin will line up with the hole. The whole rack actually weighs less than my bicycle (only 30 pounds, my bike is over 35), so it is very easy to put on and take off. They even include a lock for the hitch pin and a cable lock that pulls out and retracts. Both use the same key. It wouldn't stop a determined thief (honestly, nothing can stop a sufficiently determined thief, they could just steal your car) but it will give you some extra peace of mind when driving down the highway. Also, Saris' customer service is top notch, because they are all in America. I actually had to call them because I had a piece missing in my rack when it was delivered. I had a 5 minute conversation and the missing piece was delivered for free 2 days later.

I won the Saris Freedom Superclamp 2-Bike bike rack from a contest held on TheDyrt Facebook page, and after a few weeks and trips with the product to do a review. So far the bike rack has been up to Jasper National Park from Boulder, CO with stops along the way in Grand Tetons, YellowStone, Glacier, Banff and Lake Louise National Parks as well as a roadtrip from Boulder to Toronto, ON through Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois and Michigan. I've gone on various road conditions over the 5,000+ miles as well as in various driving conditions (city, highway, off roading, and country). This bike rack is incredibly easy to use. It is what I call "micro adjustable" just because the bike is clamped to the rack with a bunch of slide-able wheel wells and tire arms adjustable at any position. I also love that it comes with included, retractable bike locks to secure your cheap or expensive bikes to the rack, then another lock between the rack and your car's hitch. I can't fully open my trunk when I have bikes on the back, which I would complain about if this didn't take any longer than 30 seconds to get the bike's off. I was also impressed how well the rack held up when I went up Shadow Mountain with 2 on the rack to do some riding around the summit with the Grand Tetons as my backdrop. The bumpy road and constant rocking could've bent the frame, but it held up beautifully. I made 2 video reviews over on YouTube with the same channel name (Sirius_Camper).

I love my new bike rack; however it didn't come with a lock for the cables. I looked on the website to order but I would have to purchase the lock with the cable for $55.00. With the amount of money the rack is it should have come with a cable lock. Thank you.

What a well designed bike rack, it is incredibly easy to use. The initial set up/install was straight forward. To find anything made in the USA anymore and still be reasonably priced makes this rack tough to beat. I use it to haul two hardtail mtb's and have not had any issues. Thanks Saris!
